You say "oooout" and i say "Out"

Why do canadian say "ooooouuut" and Americans say "Out". Peter Jennings does this all the time as does Alanis Morisette and others. Why? Is it a canuck thing or what?

By the way, Not only is William Shatner not American - he's also Canadian and if i can be so bold in the immortal words of Comedy Central's Daily show..John Stewart..."The coolest Jewish guy" to walk the planet" since well.....Jesus Christ....

No, it's just Chris in one of his funny moods. He was probably feeling over-patriotic. That's my guess anyway, as I have on occasions had arguments with him with roots in misplaced patriotism.

I've moved on to the WTB album, last night in fact. It's the one that I knew as a nipper, as my mother has it on LP. So I've not been getting quite so excited about it. But I absolutely adore the PPM album.

WTB came out in America as Meet The Beatles and was a bit different. Their first Capitol release here after the VeeJay "Introducing..." album mirrored mostly PPM.
